Shri Jaimon Jacob is an accomplished academician, technology professional and institutional administrator with more than three decades of professional experience in technical education, academic administration, skill development, research and technology-driven institutional initiatives.
He has served in various academic and administrative positions under the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), Government of Kerala, including Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, Officer-in-Charge of the IHRD Model Finishing School, Ernakulam, Officer-in-Charge of the IHRD Regional Centre, Ernakulam, Officer-in-Charge of the IHRD Extension Centre, Thavanur, and Project Coordinator for Skill Training Projects across IHRD institutions.
His academic and technical qualifications include M.Tech in Digital Image Processing, M.Tech in Computer and Information Science, MBA in Information Technology, B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, and DCHM (Computer Hardware Maintenance) from the Department of Technical Education, Kerala, in which he secured First Rank with 89.9%.
Shri Jaimon Jacob has extensive experience in institutional development, project management, skill development and technology initiatives. He served as the Nodal Officer of the Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics and Automation under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, contributing to strategic planning, infrastructure development, research initiatives, industry collaboration and technology partnerships.
As Project Coordinator for Skill Training Projects in IHRD, he coordinated 14 Central and State Government-sponsored projects with an aggregate value exceeding ₹20.60 crore. These initiatives covered skill development, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, capacity building, livelihood promotion and manpower development.
His administrative experience also includes the revitalisation and development of the IHRD Model Finishing School and Regional Centre at Ernakulam, establishment of the IHRD Extension Centre at Thavanur, and coordination of several government-supported training and development programmes.
With a strong interest in emerging technologies, Shri Jaimon Jacob has contributed to research in areas including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Information Security and related fields. He has 15 research publications in international journals, Scopus-indexed publications, Springer proceedings, IEEE Xplore, Elsevier publications and national and international conferences.
He has participated in 69 faculty development programmes, workshops, seminars, conferences and professional development programmes, and has coordinated more than 20 such programmes. He has also served as General Chair of the International Conference on Trends in Engineering Systems and Technologies (ICTEST 2024 & ICTEST 2025).
Shri Jaimon Jacob is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India) and a Life Member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He is also a recognised Academic Counsellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
He currently serves as Honorary Secretary of the Institution of Engineers (India), Kochi Local Centre (2025–2027) and Vice Chairman of the IETE Kochi Centre (2026–2028).
His professional contributions have received several recognitions, including the CUSAT NSS Award, Special Appreciation from the District Planning Committee, Ernakulam, and a Certificate of Excellence for his leadership of ICTEST 2024.
As Director of the Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), Shri Jaimon Jacob brings together extensive experience in academic leadership, institutional administration, technology, research, skill development and government project implementation.
His approach to institutional development focuses on strengthening academic excellence, innovation, research, technology-enabled education, skill development, industry and institutional collaboration, and student-centred growth.
